The Algasol Solution
A New Approach to Industrial Microalgae Cultivation
Algasol addresses these limitations through a low-cost, modular photobioreactor manufactured from flexible polymer film. The closed system can be deployed on land, in ponds or in marine environments.
The technology uses natural density differences to control the position of the photobioreactor, reducing dependence on mechanical stirring and active temperature regulation.
Five principal innovations form the foundation of the platform:

Algasol’s technology has been deployed in multi-year operations across different geographies and has reached Technology Readiness Level 8.
Approximately 4,000 hectares have been deployed across three continents, demonstrating the platform’s ability to operate beyond laboratory and pilot environments.
At a productivity level of 35 g/m²/day, validated performance indicates dry biomass production costs as low as approximately USD 210 per ton. The system can also utilize approximately 2 kg of CO₂ for every kilogram of biomass produced.
